Church, Graduation ceremonies and birthday celebrations. Its great to be part of people's life. I went to church last weekend. Although i attended for only half an hour, it was great. The community is strong. They helped an old woman celebrating her 103th birthday and they prayed for margaret who passed away, acknowledging life and death within barely half an hour. Another example, I went to help out at a graduation ceremony today. A mother who was late could not contact her child who was in the midst of her graduation ceremony. Having language barriers and phone connection problems, I helped to contact her child. The mother came all the way from China to Reading, intending to attend her child's graduation. Yet finding herself to be late and lost in the campus. When I brought her to her child, although she could not attend the full ceremony, she got a glimpse of where the ceremony was held and how it looked like. It is hard to describe how wonderful their smiles, rejoice and gratefulness were when they gather together. It was memorable, as if my long hours of standing today paid off. From helping graduates to take family photos and ,those without family attending, solo photos, it was an all new experience to me. Their joy and emotions was felt. It is fun to have a sneak peek of a once in a lifetime ceremony of people I don't know at all. :)
These are the cupcakes baked for a friend's birthday. :) Although I knew her just a few months, happy birthday! :)
