But when I first heard of this idea, I was quite shocked. It does not make sense to me. Its like coffee poured into french fries. But then one day, an opportunity came. I was feeling not very well, so I had white rice with steamed meat, a very simple meal. Then I thought to myself, there is a packet of English Breakfast Tea bag not far away from where I was sitting. Why not give it a try?
So, after having a few more bites of my rice, I made a cup of hot tea and poured some of it into my rice, thinking what the heck am I doing. After trying it, my thoughts changed. It was startling to realise that the taste of it is very different and quite appealing. The tea taste as if a broth. Its very different and nice. It makes my tummy feel warm. I would say it is a very homely bowl of tea rice. Thumbs up.
However, I have read up an interesting saying! If a Kyoto native offered their guest this dish, it may meant that the guest have overstayed and is politely to be asked to leave. lol
This picture here looks even more amazing. Now this is grilled rice ball with tea. hahaha. well well, grilled rice ball is rice ball being barbequed. I havent tried it but I think grilled rice ball, itself, should be yummy. hahahaha
You'll agree if you watch this (only available in chinese subtitle)
